A time to remember

Yesterday was 2 years since Tim’s mom lost her fight against PKD…after being on dialysis for almost 9 years, her heart gave out…we miss her everyday. In honor of this special day our family got together with Grandpa Allen and had dinner at Sizzler, her favorite place..we love that our kids all wanted to be included❤️❤️❤️

Update

Tim’s creatinine levels are down to almost normal…..so exciting….normal being .70 to 1.33…..his was over 10 the day before surgery and now it is down to 1.7. He is feeling much better as the first 2 weeks were rough getting comfortable, but he is taking daily walks and you can just tell that he feels better. Friday we go back to SF for a follow up visit and Marc is going for his follow up as well. I hope to remember to get a good picture of the 2 of them now that they are on the mend. I will update after the appt.

National Donor Day 2/14/19

In honor of National Donor Day, I found these awesome shirts…I think Marc should have them all😉….also if you’ve ever thought about donating either as living donor or You can register as a deceased donor…as you never know what tomorrow brings and there are so many recipients in need….

Motivation

I have attached some pictures to show you what motivates Tim to work towards a better life…our family is the most important thing to us…as you can see we have 3 amazing kids, Ashley, who is married to Justin and they gave us two awesome grandkids, Jett and Peyton……Emily who is married to Josh…(waiting on babies)… Ashley & Emily have a very successful business together called Fragrant Farmhouse making candles and soaps and then our son Cody who farms with his grandfather, but is now doing his own crop of walnuts and he is dating a great girl, Chelsea. We also have Tim’s dad living on the ranch and we live next door to my parents, so as you can see we are very close knit….not only that but I think that Tim has found out how well respected he is, both with friends and co-workers, due to all the support we have been given….people checking on him and even some of is co-workers whom are now retired, but are still checking on him……I am very proud of this amazing man that I am married to and so glad that we have the opportunity to enjoy more of life together!!!!

Caretaker

Well it’s back to work for me today…not so much that he needs “me” but I don’t like leaving him…we have a huge support system, Cody lives on the ranch as he’s farming here so he available as is Tim’s dad, Ashley, my parents and my sister…let alone all the friends who have offered to help and I appreciate every one of you!! I have many people ask how I am and I’m good, lack a bit of sleep sometimes but it’s all worth it….I’d do whatever it takes for this opportunity. Tim is a great patient, never complains and just reads or watches tv or looks at Craigslist or Facebook….

Day 9

Well 9 days ago Tim had his surgery, he’s getting used to his daily routine, taking blood pressure, pulse and temp twice a day plus the meds at 8am and 8pm ……today we looked at his blood test results from Thursday….Creatinine shows your kidney function and it should be in a range from 0.70 to 1.33 for a normal kidney…Tim’s was over 10 the day before his surgery…as of Thursday it was down to 2.27……this is just amazing!!!! We are so blessed

Generosity abounds

My sweet sister showed up yesterday with a fruit basket after reading what things Tim has been missing…which I turned into a yummy fruit salad….we are overwhelmed with the generosity of friends and family, from monetary donations to giving us rides to and from San Francisco, to wishes and prayers and of course A KIDNEY!!! Love to you all!!!

Update

Not a lot to update….Tim is doing well, yesterday was a little rough but they said it would get worse then better and today is a better day. Tim and I just went out for a walk and went farther than before so that’s good…for those of you that don’t know Tim very well….he’s a follow the rules kinda guy and he always reads the directions….so you can count on the fact that he’ll be doing everything right on this healing journey. I’m a lucky woman to have this man in my life and feel extremely fortunate that we will be able to go on vacations again and live life the way it should be and not tied down to dialysis. We’ve been discussing about what you say to someone that has given you such a gift, one that will change our families lives…thank you doesn’t seem to be enough. Marc, Tim’s donor is a very humble man with a huge heart and doesn’t want anyone to make a big deal about it….THANK YOU MARC!!!!!! We are now family ❤️❤️❤️❤️
